Argent Dawn EU · World of Warcraft Roleplay
Brotherhood of the Ardent Flame
We do not march under banners. We tend to flames. The road reveals the need. The need reveals the work.
What We Are
The Bannerfolk are a wandering brotherhood operating out of Elwynn Forest, grounded not in faith or faction but in a simple philosophy, the Ardent Flame. We go where the need is highest. We do not ask what banner you fly. We ask only that you keep the Flame burning.
This is an easy-going guild with minimal attendance restrictions. Expect slow evenings and improvised scenes as much as structured events. What matters is that the work gets done.
A workshop and sanctuary in Elwynn Forest. Weapon-free. Faction-neutral. Open to anyone who needs it.
The Ardent Flame is not a religion or a cause. It is a way of moving through Azeroth. Give what you have. Leave it warmer than you found it.
We travel because the need travels. Shrines marked with a candle on a flattened stone. Somewhere, someone came past and thought the road needed tending.
No creed, no salute, no dress code. Only a mutual understanding that a Flame is worth keeping. Inspired by the Brotherhood Without Banners.
The Ardent Scripture
Anything below is in-character. Damar hands these scriptures out to anyone who asks for them, while selling his candles.
This scripture is not a holy text. I am a candlemaker who found a philosophy worth living by. The Ardent Flame is not a religion. It is not a military order. It is a way of moving across Azeroth, a way of deciding what you owe to those around you. That is all it has ever been, and that is enough.
A flame does not want anything. It does not see what faction banner you wave. It burns. It gives what it has. And when it dies out, the warmth it offered lingers. That is what we are here to do.
I will not turn anyone away. I do not care what banner you are loyal to. Inside this building, you are simply a guest. Leave your weapons at the door. Do not raise your voice in anger. Do not lay hands on another in violence. The door stands open. It will remain such.
We do not have a dress code. We do not have a salute. What we have is a mutual understanding that a Flame is worth keeping. I ask only that you carry it in your acts. The teachings live in the actions, not the mentioning of it.

Custodian
Damar Vaenart

Half-elven candlemaker, born and raised in Elwynn Forest. He tends the Chandlery, looks after the order, and sets direction when it is needed. He does not command. He does not demand loyalty.

Ranks
There is no military structure, no chain of command, and no titles earned through ceremony. What we have are five ranks that reflect a member's standing within the brotherhood.
There is only one Custodian. He tends the Chandlery, looks after the order, and sets direction when needed. It is not a position of power, it is one of responsibility.
The most senior members of the Bannerfolk. The Ardent Flame is simply part of how they move through the world. Others look to them. Some take on an officer role because of that.
A Proven member has shown, over time, what they are. Not in a single moment, in the pattern of their actions. They know the order and the order knows them.
An Adherent carries the philosophy and acts on it. They are committed. They know what the Flame asks of them and they answer it.
A Seeker is still learning what the Ardent Flame means to them. They have heard enough to want to know more. No one is rushing them. The road reveals itself at its own pace.
What We Carry
Hope and warmth given freely. It does not ask who you are before it lets you near.
We travel because the need travels. Wherever the suffering is, that is where we go.
Faction-neutral. Title-blind. The Chandlery asks nothing of you except that you keep the peace inside it.
The teachings live in the actions, not the mentioning of them. We do not preach. We show up.
Recruitment
The Chandlery's door is open to all. If the philosophy speaks to you, you will know it.
